Ocean Infinity is seeking an Environmental Advisor
Ocean Infinity is seeking a proactive and dedicated Environmental Advisor to join our dynamic HSSEQ team. As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting our commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible practices. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the marine exploration industry while making a positive impact on our planet's well-being. The role will report directly to Head of HSSEQ and play a vital for constantly improving our environmental goals.
Description and Main Purpose of the Job
What will you do:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental matters, liaising with stakeholders, clients, regulatory authorities, and local communities to promote transparent communication and address concerns;
- Maintain and update environmental reports, such as sustainability reports, company environmental reports, ship energy efficiency reports ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of environmental performance metrics, impacts, and progress towards goals;
- Develop, monitor, and manage environmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives, tracking performance and identifying areas for improvement;
- Stay current with legal requirements and regulations related to the environment, ensuring the organization's compliance and advocating for sustainable practices;
- Collaborate with the HSSEQ team on site duties, including incident response, emergency preparedness, and safety drills;
- Collaborate closely with various departments, including operations, engineering, and procurement, to integrate environmental considerations into their processes and decision-making;
- Assist in the development and execution of initiatives and projects aimed at reducing the organization's environmental footprint and enhancing sustainability efforts;
- Regularly update environmental-related documents, policies, and procedures to reflect current best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements;
- Participate in internal and external environmental audits, assisting with the identification of areas for improvement and the implementation of corrective actions;
- Contribute to the communication and marketing of the company's environmental initiatives to clients, stakeholders, and the public;
- Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies related to environmental conservation and sustainability;
- Provide expert guidance on environmental compliance matters to various departments within the organization;
- Collaborate with project teams to incorporate environmental considerations into project planning and execution;
- Drive the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of our operations;
- Explore innovative solutions and technologies to enhance Ocean Infinity's environmental performance;
- Participate in industry forums, conferences, and working groups to stay informed about emerging environmental trends;
- Promote a culture of environmental responsibility and mindfulness within the organization;
- Aid in audits and inspections from third parties.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field;
- Proven experience in environmental roles, with a strong understanding of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices;
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and analytical skills;
- Proficient in MS Office suite and environmental management software;
- Proficiency in environmental assessment tools and software;
- Thoughtful, thorough and conscientious;
- Interested in others and strives to act in the best interests of the team;
- Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work;
- Integrity, credibility and maturity for confidential issues;
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy;
- Ability to work as a trusted advisor with senior stakeholders;

Desirable:
- ISO 14001: Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Training;
- Marine or technical experience;
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Training.
